10. Balam Acab - Oh, Why
There are some songs that drift you along compulsively through their own terrain. They are incredibly dense, immersive, fluid. “Oh, Why” has its own malleable narrative, it’s as hard to explain as if it was a dream. The vocal samples couldn’t be more expressive even if I could understand what they are saying. It’s exhilarating, liquid, reflective, elating. Each texture is unquestionable, from the cracking, the chirping, the water and the claps, each sound takes a grab of my body. Its ascent so effortless it feels like falling down into the air.
