24. Lady Gaga - The Edge Of Glory

Lady Gaga is so famous. It’s hard meeting someone who doesn’t have an opinion about her. When Born This Way came out, I was a little monster, I was fascinated by every little thing she did and I played every released track more than I should have. Now, I feel indifference towards her, and I can’t really put a finger on why this has happened. I can’t put a finger to anything that I feel about Lady Gaga, to be honest.

“The Edge Of Glory” became an essential element of my days in May, more than any other track from Born This Way. As soon as I first listened to it, the mellowness of the track hooked me up into the sax bridge, the pre-chorus, the intro, into everything about it. Listening to this song makes me feel like May was entirely made out of streetlights and car-rides in the night. This is the imagery that made me hate the video for “The Edge Of Glory” so much, it isn’t what I had constructed for the song.

“The Edge” is pure glory in May. Maybe the impression it has left in me is what they mean by the catchiness of Lady Gaga’s songs.
